Mary Orr - Attendance Matters!

As you know, regular school attendance is crucial for the academic success and overall development of your child. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, leading to occasional absences. To ensure the smooth functioning of our school and to effectively monitor student attendance, we have implemented a new policy.

Effective immediately, it is crucial that you report any student absences promptly, preferably within one week. This allows us to maintain accurate attendance records and identify any potential issues that may require intervention or support.

We understand that unexpected situations may arise, but we kindly request your cooperation in adhering to this policy. Please note that absences reported after two weeks may not be excused without valid documentation or a compelling reason.

To report an absence, please use one of the following methods:

1. Call our school office at 817-299-2600.

2. Send an email to Shantel Dennis at shanteldennis@misdmail.org. Be sure to state the dates and reasons for the absences.

3. Send in a written note. Be sure to state the dates and reasons for the absences.

Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated, as it enables us to maintain a safe and productive learning environment for all students. You can find much more information about attendance requirements and procedures in the MISD Student Handbook. The specific sections on attendance matters can be found here.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the absence reporting process or any other school-related matters, please don't hesitate to reach out. Our team is here to assist you.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
